Megan King Edmonds of The Real Housewives of Orange County has announced via social media that she has tested positive for COVID-19. Fans were not totally surprised by the news since she has been using air travel for a few months now.
Fans will recall that Meghan, was at first, a hard character to like when she appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County when she first appeared on the show after attacking Shannon Beador. She married her ex-husband in 2014 and the couple share, three children, together. The two divorced in October 2019 due to allegations that Jim had cheated with the nanny which he denied. Since their separation, the two have not been able to agree on anything. Between the rumors of cheating, the allegations of abuse, and the custody battle, the divorce has been messy, to say the least.
Meghan took to her Instagram to share with fans that she had caught the coronavirus and would now have to quarantine according to the CDC guidelines. The 36-year-old wrote, “I tested positive for Covid. I have been safe while traveling but I had an exchange on Tuesday where I did not protect myself and this is when I had to have been infected.”
Many fans and her ex-husband still believe she partook in risky behavior by choosing to travel. The mother of three tried defending herself by explaining the procedures she set in place for herself, but fans were not convinced. Meghan wrote, “I have been safe with distancing and masks since Tuesday including when I went to dinner solo and stayed distant and wore a mask at Hayes's soccer.” The former reality star will now have to be away from her children, Aspen, Hart, and Hayes so they can stay safe. She explained that her “kids have been at their father's but Hayes will quarantine due to a brief (1 hour) proximity to me.” The children will also be staying with Meghan’s parents until she is well enough to care for them once again.
The mother has said she feels poorly and went to get a test because she felt very lethargic. She had just been to Miami but said no one from her bubble had contracted the virus. She also made a point to let fans know that once she felt sick, she had immediately stayed away from everyone and got tested.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesday at 9pm EST on Bravo.
