Aside from all the action, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is filled with great characters and storylines thanks to Stan Lee and his amazing imagination. The women of the MCU have played a vital role in its success. Friendships are hard to come by with so many egos on display, no matter the galaxy. Even with all the male hand-to-hand battles, the ladies have stood their ground on the battlefield and in their bonds.
What has set some of these women apart from the others in the MCU has been their ability to stand by their friends. Whether that is Natasha standing with Captain America, Gamora bonding with her sister Nebula or the strong bond between Pepper and Tony Stark. Which of these women can be called the greatest friend?
10 Elektra
Elektra ranks last on this list due to her villainous nature. However, there is still a good side of her that only Daredevil fans can understand. As tough and as fearless as Matt Murdock is, his one weakness has always been Elektra. Matt is the only one to truly know what's inside of her. And for that, Elektra has always been on Matt's side.
Even in the afterlife, those evil spirits could not consume the love she had for Matt. Skilled as a great fighter, her hesitation to comply with orders was caused by his presence. There was no one else was she willing to risk it all for. Elektra was a great friend with a weird way of showing loyalty.
9 Valkyrie
Valkyrie had no real allegiance to Thor or Hulk. And yet, she was there when each needed them during their escape in Thor: Ragnarok. To further her case as a good friend, viewers can point to her help when Thor was at his worst after Avengers: Infinity War. Still, not a major player in the MCU yet, Valkyrie has a ways to go.
Asgard was destroyed which forced them to take refuge elsewhere. While Thor was down and out, it was Valkyrie who stepped up and made sure the people were safe. Valkyrie did the right thing and was rewarded as the new leader of Asgard.
8 Tandy
Two kids came in contact with one another and years later were reunited by circumstances. Tandy was down on her luck and while neither she nor Tyrone were feeling the newfound friendship at first, they learned that trusting one another was their only option.
From different sides of the city, Tandy had to trust Tyrone and vice versa. What resulted was Tandy trusting that she had a friend she could rely on. Tandy, dealing with her own demons, was there for Tyrone when he was searching for his own answers.
7 Gamora
The Guardians of the Galaxy characters are a bit stranger than what fans are used to in the MCU. Although the films are some of the funnier in the MCU, the crew still has their purpose. For Gamora, it's revenge. She wants her father Thanos to pay for all the bad deeds he's done and for raising her to be who she is. Gamora is a killer but wants to break free of that.
While pairing with Star-Lord and the others, Gamora learned over time what having a real family is like. She even made amends with her estranged sister Nebula. She fought side by side with and for her team. Gamora has been labeled many things, and being a good friend should be added to that list.
6 Jessica Jones
Jessica is not known for making the best decisions. From childhood, she's had someone she could lean on and that was Trish Walker. Calling each other sisters was more than just a term of endearment, it is how they truly feel. She and Trish were inseparable but time can break a bond.
Jessica is a loner for the most part, but despite their differences, she and Trish have always found a way to come back together. Each season of Jessica Jones, there has been a point where either of the two has shown a bit of hostility towards the other.
5 Scarlet Witch
After losing her brother, Scarlet Witch was left alone. Now, paired with The Avengers, she had to learn to trust again. What makes her stand out as a good friend is that she's down for the cause when it comes to doing right, but when someone she loves is hurt, she's bringing the war to whoever. In Infinity War, Thanos killed Vision, and Scarlet Witch was out for revenge.
With the redo of the snap, she got her chance in Endgame. Everyone wanted revenge but Scarlett Witch was out for more. Her time with Vision set the stage for a great friendship but it was their bond to one another that gave Marvel the blueprint for their new show WandaVision. Fans wanted to see more.
4 Captain Marvel
New to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Carol Danvers didn't have time to make any real friends. However, she did make one and that grew to become one of the most important friendships in the MCU. Captain Marvel and Nick Fury shared a bond just as close as Captain America and Winter Soldier.
It was Fury who helped Captain Marvel and it was she who helped Fury in return. When the crisis of Infinity War began, Fury reached out to Captain Marvel who came to his rescue.
3 Pepper Potts
Despite the bumpy relationship that she shared with Tony Stark, Pepper Potts has always been visible if not always seen. Happy has been Stark's go-to-guy but Pepper has been the only person who could keep Tony and his massive ego in check.
What makes her a good friend was that she showed up when it was least expected. To see Potts enter the final fight against Thanos was further proof of she's always looked out for Stark's best interest. She may have come across as always being angry with him and needing space, but in the end, she was there by his side in his moment of truth.
2 Daisy
While Marvel's Agent's of SHIELD centered around the leadership of Phil Coulson, it was Daisy Johnson who became the real leader of the show. In the early stages, she was a loner and it took a while for her to accept the fact that a family was needed. The real connection was between her and Coulson.
For Daisy, Coulson was a father figure. She never wanted to let him down in any way. Daisy was by his side through the tough calls. She's loyal, loves hard, and will risk her life for those she cares about.
1 Black Widow
Black Widow is loyal. Doesn't matter if it's, Iron Man, Captain America, or Hawkeye, Natasha has stood by everyone's side. As a former spy and assassin, one would think loyalty is a foreign word to her. But she has proven during her time in the MCU that's she capable of being a good friend.
The argument could be made that she turned her back on Tony during Civil War but that was because Tony was blinded by his ego. Who has given up their life for the greater good like Natasha? She let Clint live so he could be with his family.
