Fall Guys Adds Only Fans Stage, Remixes, & Fixes To Keep Game Fresh

Fall Guys has introduced a major update for the game's second season of content, introducing a new stage and dynamic remixed obstacles. This comes following a Twitter announcement last week detailing the new fan-based level and hinting at a few other changes, including a new naming system and something called "Lil Yeety."

The cartoonish battle royale has fallen a bit in prominence since its explosive release earlier this year, which was so wildly popular that it crashed Steam servers. Those days might be gone, but the game maintains a steady following, who has been enjoying the game's second season. This season introduces brand new medieval-themed levels and costumes, letting players dress up their adorable little beans as knights, dragons, and witches. As the game goes on, developer Mediatonic has been making more and more tweaks and adjustments, addressing bugs, cheaters, and more in their quest to make Fall Guys the best obstacle course gauntlet it can be.

The team's newest attempt to improve on the game is now live with the Season 2.5 update, as described on the official Fall Guys blog. The update adds in the aforementioned fan level, Big Fans, which tasks players with leaping between spinning fan-shaped platforms in a harrowing test of platforming skill. The new level is far from the only addition coming to the game, though; Fall Guys is also modifying existing levels with new obstacles that can appear at random to drastically change player experience and bring a fresh level of challenge and surprise to familiar, well-trod levels. These obstacles include the previously mentioned Lil Yeety, a spinning hammer which spins much faster than its larger predecessor Big Yeetus. The game's community-named spike roller Thicc Bonkus will also begin appearing at random in levels. Get a taste of the mayhem in the game's new 2.5 update trailer below.

This new update should shake things up in a big way, which is definitely for the best. The game's popularity is definitely on the decline, thanks in part to the new online multiplayer juggernaut, Among Us. Constant content additions like this are important to keep the game alive, and this one looks primed to do an excellent job. The Season 2.5 update not only adds new content for players to explore, it changes up the pre-existing content in a way that gives players a chance to experience it fresh all over again. It's a definite boon for the game.

Recent decline aside, Fall Guys secured a place in gaming history in its first week alone. Its immediate success is not something that should be discounted, and there aren't many who tried it who wouldn't call it one of the best indie games of the year. It's always inspiring to see how devoted the development team is to keeping it alive and thriving over the months, and it's always thrilling to see what fun new obstacle with a wacky name will be added in next. In spite of everything, Fall Guys is a game that keeps on giving, and that's something special in and of itself.
