The longtime Dancing with the Stars professional dancer, Artem Chigvintsev, has had a love for dancing that started at a very young age.
Artem is currently competing on the reality competition series with former Bachelorette lead, Kaitlyn Bristowe. The dancing partners recently received their first perfect score of the season, dancing to Britney Spears' "Toxic" for their Argentine tango routine. It is no surprise he and Kaitlyn received a perfect score, as Artem has been dancing professionally for most his life.
According to Artem's website, the DWTS dancer was born in Izhevsk, Russia on June 12, 1982. He began dancing at a very young age due to his mother's love for the craft. At the age of 15, Artem had already won several dance competitions and was taken to Germany, Italy, and England to gain more training and perfect his dancing. In 2004, at the age of 22, Artem moved to Los Angeles where he competed in the first season of So You Think You Can Dance, and booked other choreography jobs and even some acting roles. He appeared in the popular teen drama series, The O.C., and even choreographed the second season of So You Think You Can Dance. He joined the British version of DWTS, Strictly Come Dancing, in 2010, and won the season with this partner, Kara Tointon. Artem stayed with the show for 4 seasons before leaving and joined the cast of DWTS in 2014. When he joined DWTS, he decided to he wanted to stay in the USA and got his American Citizenship in September of 2014. Artem has danced with a number of famous celebrities such as Patti Labelle, Lea Thompson, and Mischa Barton, as well as his fiance, Nikki Bella.
Artem met Nikki when she competed on DWTS in 2017, but the couple did not become a couple until January 2019, according to Us Weekly. Fans first got a glimpse of their relationship when it was featured on Nikki's reality TV series, Total Bellas, in March 2019. Less than a year after they started dating, Artem proposed to Nikki in Burgundy, France in November of 2019. The engagement was not announced until the new year in January 2020. Soon after, they had some more good news: they were expecting their first child together. On the July 31st 2020, Nikki gave birth to their son, Matteo, who is always making an appearance on Artem's Instagram. When he is not posting pictures of his adorable baby boy, he's showing off his beautiful fiance.
