10 Famous Family

For those not in the know— and in case her last name doesn't give it away— Zoë comes from a very famous family. Her mother is Lisa Bonet, who is a very talented actress best known for her work on The Cosby Show.

Meanwhile, her father just so happens to be the legendary Lenny Kravitz. He is, of course, best known for being a rock and roll icon, while he too has dabbled in the acting world, being best known for his role as Cinna in The Hunger Games franchise.

9 Doesn't Like Being Called Famous

Despite being a well-known name who people are certainly aware of, Zoë Kravitz does not want to be known as famous. She once stated in an in an interview that she doesn't like being called famous, which showcases the type of person she is.

There's a reason that she's so popular with people around the world, because she is very relatable, and that is always a good thing. She's proven to be someone that audiences can connect with which is a trait that will serve her popularity well.

8 Hasn't Used Twitter In Years

Twitter isn't for everyone, and Zoë Kravitz is one of those people that just doesn't connect with the platform. While she does have an account, it isn't something she uses frequently, with her last post being in 2017.

She actually only bothered to make an account because someone else was pretending to be her online and had started gaining a following. They were posting things that she didn't agree with and therefore created an account just so people would know that the other account wasn't actually her.

7 Television Success

Zoë Kravitz has had some huge roles in movies, whether it's her involvement in the Fantastic Beasts franchise or being part of Mad Max: Fury Road. However, Kravitz has also had unbelievable success within television too, proving just how talented she is.

She was a huge part of the hit series, Big Little Lies, playing the character of Bonnie Carlson, one of the lead roles for the show. Meanwhile, she starred in Hulu's High Fidelity series, coincidentally based on the movie (and also book) of the same named that her mother, Lisa Bonet, starred in.

6 A Wealth Of Experience

Zoë Kravitz isn't just being brought onboard to play Catwoman for the sake of it because she has a big name that is marketable. Even though she's been involved in various different jobs throughout her life, acting has always been a massive part of her.

She has worked her way up in the world of Hollywood and Zoë has been in the industry for over a decade now. She's honed her skills and become a tremendous actress that is more than capable of taking on such a big, high-pressure role like this.

5 Stance On Racial Stereotypes

One of the big reasons people are so excited about seeing her take on the role of Catwoman is because of her strong stance about racially stereotypical roles for African-American women. She has spoken openly in the past about her dislike for roles given to African-American women to only further the plot point of a white male character.

So, don't expect Catwoman to just be around for the benefit of Batman in this movie. Knowing her stance on these types of roles, it is expected that Catwoman should have a big part to play in the film, getting plenty of story and character development of her own.

4 Overcoming An Eating Disorder

When people look at the lives of celebrities, they often make the mistake of presuming that they have no troubles or problems, which couldn't be further from the truth. Zoë Kravitz is a great example of that, as she had a decade-long battle with an eating disorder.

The actress had struggled with both anorexia and bulimia, which started from the age of 13. She battled the illnesses for a long time but has now thankfully overcome them, and is able to speak openly and proudly about the situation, becoming a real inspiration to others.

3 She Feels The Pressure

Taking on any role within the superhero world is risky, but especially a character as iconic and important as Catwoman. The character has a deep fanbase who is incredibly knowledgeable on the character, with strong opinions on how they want it presented and what should be happening.

In the past, some actors have taken on roles in superhero-related projects and faced severe backlash because of it, for varying reasons. Zoë has admitted that she knows the pressure that comes with a role this big, and the fact she has embraced that is a good sign for how the character will be portrayed in the film.

2 It's Not Her First Superhero Movie

While this might be an entirely new world for Robert Pattinson, that isn't the case for Zoë Kravitz. That's because she's been involved in not one, but two major superhero projects before. Her big breakout role as an actress came in 2011 where she played Angel Salvadore in X-Men: The First Class.

But being able to fly around with wings isn't the only time she's been in a superhero film. Kravitz also recently appeared in the popular Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, where she played the voice of the iconic character Mary Jane Watson.

1 She's Already Been Catwoman

Though The Batman and Kravitz's role in the movie is still two years off, she has technically already played the character of Catwoman. That's because she was involved in a third superhero movie: The Lego Batman Movie.

The popular spin-off was heavily focused on the Batman world, and Catwoman obviously was featured as part of that. Funnily enough, it was Kravitz who got the chance to voice the character for that film, proving she will be great as the character.
