Erika Jayne of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills commented on the presidential debate last night on Twitter and fans are not pleased with her. The debate is all everybody could talk about, but what Erika had to say did not sit well with her fans.
Erika joined RHOBH in 2015 for its 6th season. Ever since she started on the show, the reality star has gained quite the following. Since her first season, Erika has not only had a number of hit songs, but she wrote and published a book as well. One of her most recent accomplishments is starring in the Broadway play, Chicago, as the lead role of Roxie Hart. She even got the chance to appear on Dancing with the Stars, but sadly did not make it very far and was the fourth person to leave the competition. Now Erika is talking about others topics besides reality TV, and this is making her fans mad.
According to TV Shows Ace, fans did not like Erika getting political last night during the presidential debate. She was not the only RHOBH star to talk about it, either. The singer sided with former cast member, Brandi Glanville, on Twitter last night. This was evident when Erika liked one of Brandi Glanville’s tweets about the debate. Brandi said in her tweet that there should be “a new law that no one over 65 should be able to be president.” Fans of Erika took notice of this and were not happy with her. Brandi has been in hot water for exposing an alleged affair between her and cast member, Denise Richards, which was a private matter that Denise did not want out for public knowledge. Fans saw Erika's interaction with Brandi's tweet as a soft of alliance with Brandi. One fan commented how Erika's husband, Tom Girardi, is just as old as the men running for president. “It’s rich that @erikajayne likes this tweet given that’s her demographic for her husband.” Unlike most celebrities, Erika noticed this tweet and fired back by replying, “It’s not rich, it’s honest. No one over 65 should be President. My husband is not running for office.” Erika does have a point—she has experience being around a man over age of 65 and knows most would not be capable of running the country.
More trolls continued to attack Erika and not just on her political comment. Some even shamed her music career. “Ok then, no one over 40 should be in a broadway musical. See how that cuts?”one person tweeted. “It’s not rich, it’s honest that maybe a 32-year age difference shouldn’t be matrimony or you shouldn’t have bullied Denise,” said another. These are just a few of the nasty responses Erika got last night after liking Brandi's tweet. Fans continued to attack Erika for her and Tom's age difference, but she did not mind because she fought back. One troll said "@erikajayne liked this, yet her husband is in his 80’s", to which she replied, "I have experience in this area", with two crying-laughing emojis. These tweets do not bother Erika, as she knows the love she and Tom have for one another.
Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but the hate Erika received late night was completely unnecessary, especially since the idea of having a presidential age limit is something that has been discussed widely by all sorts of Americans. Although, for next time, Erika should just avoid liking any tweets that have to do with older men or Brandi Glanville.
