James Kennedy from Vanderpump Rules is singing the praises of his castmate, Jax Taylor, who is expecting his first child with wife Brittany Cartwright. The DJ believes Jax will be an amazing father.
Fans of VPR first saw James as a guest star on the show in the second season. He was later bumped to a friend for the third season and then became a full-time cast member for the fourth season. James has dated two other castmates from VPR. The DJ had a short-lived relationship with Kristen Doute, who was recently fired for racially insensitive remarks she made in the past. James also dated Lala Kent for a while, who is now engaged to Randall Emmett and pregnant with their first child together. Now, James is in a relationship with fellow cast member Raquel, who he has been dating since 2016.
James Kennedy told Page Six he thinks Jax Taylor will be a great father. “I truly believe that,” the DJ told the publication. “I think he’s going to be a great father. I’m really, really happy for [him and Brittany Cartwright].” James and Jax haven't always been the closest of friends. At last year's reunion, Jax almost looked like he was about to get into a physical altercation with James after host Andy Cohen mentioned a tweet James shared about Jax's father. Clearly, the two have moved on from the incident. The reality star explained that ever since he stopped drinking, he and Jax have been on better terms. "We’ve been fine ever since I stopped drinking and pretty much focused on the other things, the more positive things in my life. I haven’t really had time or a need to be starting beef with anybody. I can’t be bothered with it anymore really," James said of their relationship.
The 28-year-old music producer did not forget to congratulate his other VPR costars. James added he felt “really happy for everybody,” referencing both Stassi Schroeder and Lala Kent’s pregnancies. “It’s amazing to see everyone taking their relationships to the next level, starting families,” he said of his VPR costars. “I’m so happy for everybody, Brittany, Lala and Stassi. I’m happy for all three of them.” Stassi, who is currently five months along, is expecting her first child with fiancé Beau Clark in January. Lala Kent announced she was expecting her first child with fiancé and movie producer Randall Emmett earlier this month. She recently had a gender reveal party and found out she is expecting a little girl.
James and Jax had some beef in the past, but now the two are over it and have moved on. James wants to wish Jax well and he is happy Jax and Brittany are about to embark on this new journey in their lives.
