7 "My Funky Valentine" (8.7)

No one's Valentine's Day goes according to plan in this hilarious episode. Phil and Claire go to a hotel and engage in some role play, but things go terribly wrong when Claire's coat gets stuck in the escalator, and she can't take it off, given she's not wearing anything underneath. Gloria helps her out though, sparing Claire of any more embarrassment in the congested hotel. All of these events turn out to cross one another's paths, leading to a series of hilarious misunderstandings that takes place in a matter of moments near the episode's end.

1 "Connection Lost" (9.5)

It's no wonder why this episode was rated the highest; the entire episode is brilliantly done as it takes place behind screens, as the characters communicate via computer, iPad and phone. Claire is waiting for her flight home, and tries to contact Haley. She ends up speaking with various members of the family, and through different bits of information from them, she jumps to conclusions and believes Haley has eloped to Las Vegas with Andy and that she is pregnant. Funnily enough, the series of coincidences and misunderstandings meant nothing, as Haley was at home the entire time, and is understandably mortified by her family's hasty assumptions.
