Bachelor In Paradise: Katie Morton Reveals How Producers Manipulated Her Reunion Interview

Katie Morton is opening up about that awkward moment at the Bachelor In Paradise reunion last year. For those that need a memory check, Katie joined Chris Harrison on stage to talk about her rocky relationship with then-fiancé, Chris Bukowski. She was in tears trying to explain why she didn’t feel loved, and why she was no longer wearing her engagement ring. However, it turns out the whole scenario was a result of good (or maybe bad?) production. In a recent podcast interview, The Bachelor's Katie Morton revealed the real reason why she wasn’t wearing her engagement ring, why she got on stage solo, and why she blindsided her now-ex.

Bachelor in Paradise couple Katie and Chris definitely had their ups and downs while on the show, and it was clear the two had a difficult time communicating. They left paradise engaged but called it quits shortly after the reunion show. Apparently, the reasons behind their breakup may have been a result of scheming producers, rather than their communication problems. Now that Katie’s contract is up with the show, she’s spilling the tea on what really went down during that tension-filled interview at the Bachelor In Paradise reunion.

While on the podcast Mouthing Off with Olivia Caridi (via Refinery 29), Katie opened up about the “traumatic experience” she had with Bachelor producers. She explained that the producers of the Bachelor in Paradise reunion show put her in an awkward position with her then-fiancé. Katie revealed, “The producers kept me in a trailer for six hours," referring to where she was before she came out on stage to chat live with Chris Harrison about her relationship. "Their plans were to bring me on stage alone." The producers also took Katie's engagement ring and didn't give it back before she came on stage. She said, “I asked for it, and they said no. They brought it out during a time when they felt it was necessary.” She adds, "Whenever I get really stressed I'll also randomly cry. So Chris Harrison said, 'I see you're not wearing your ring,' And that was a breath of like, If I could only f-ing say it... I didn't know how to say that this wasn't my choice."

Katie went on to explain that she and Bukowski’s relationship crumbled after that tearful interview. She revealed that he never forgave her for taking off her ring and blindsiding him on live television. They broke up shortly after, and Morton even says the two don’t even follow one another on Instagram anymore.

Yikes. After the lengths producers went to make good TV, Bachelor Nation is probably wondering what else has been staged by the masterminds behind the show
