Sugar Rush Season 3: Who Are Guest Judges Fortune Feimster, Justin Willman and Tyler Posey?

Sugar Rush is back on Netflix and this time it’s Extra Sweet! The baking reality show, which premiered on July 31 has been in the news as the late Naya Rivera’s final on-screen appearance. The Glee actress and singer’s memory was celebrated in the episode “Birds of a Feather.”  Many fans tuned in to Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet to watch Rivera, but they may not know much about the other guest judges on the series.

Everyone with a sweet tooth ought to know about Netflix's Sugar Rush. Currently in its third edition titled Extra Sweet, the baking competition forces contestants to race against the clock to create their best cupcakes, cakes, and confections. With three rounds dedicated to each sweet treat, Sugar Rush tests the creativity of talented bakers as they take “whisks” to earn a whole lot of “dough” - $10,000 to be exact. Judges Adriano Zumbo (of the Australian TV show Zumbo’s Just Desserts) and Candace Nelson (the proprietor of LA-based cupcake chain Sprinkles) give their expert insights to the four teams while host Hunter March roots for their sugary success. As per tradition, the show features a guest judge for every episode, and this time Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet’s line-up “bakes” the competition so much “batter”!

Fans of The Mindy Project will best remember Fortune Feimster as Colette Kimball-Kinney from the Hulu comedy. But as the Mindy Kaling show grew popular, so did Feimster's character. The 40-year-old North Carolina native carved her way to the top and soon became a series regular by season four. Having found her comic fame as a writer and performer on Chelsea Lately, The Groundlings Theater grad is also a seasoned standup. Her most memorable guest appearances apart from Sugar Rush’s “Junk Foodie” episode include 2 Broke Girls, Glee, Dear White People, Lights Out, and also RuPaul’s Drag Race. Feimster’s Netflix Stand Up Special Sweet and Salty is currently streaming for fans who want the full taste of Feimster's comedy.

Along with Fortune Feimster, the magician extraordinaire Justin Willman makes an appearance on Sugar Rush’s magic-themed episode “Perfect Illusion.” Star and creator of the hit Netflix original series Magic for Humans, Willman is a regular on The Tonight ShowThe Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Conan. The Los Angeles resident chose to entertain people after suffering from a life-altering experience. Having broken both arms at age 12, he started performing card tricks as an alternative therapy suggested by his orthopedic surgeon. Since then, 40-year-old Willman’s journey has been nothing but magical. He has guest-starred on Defenders, performed for the Obamas at the White House, and created online videos with over 100 million views!

Last but not least, Tyler Posey joins the ranks of Sugar Rush guest judges. Who doesn’t remember the teen heartthrob of Teen Wolf fame? Best known as Scott McCall from the MTV show, Posey, 28, was roped in by Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet to guest judge their darkly delicious “Blackout” episode. The Californian started off his career as a child star in Collateral Damage and Jennifer Lopez’s Maid in Manhattan. He also interestingly has auditioned for the role of Jacob Black from Twilight. Posey was also a part of the band Disappearing Jamie till 2013, and of late has released a debut eight-track EP Scumbag for his pop-punk rock band Five North with friend Kyle Murphy. On-screen, Posey was last seen on Netflix’s Fast & Furious Spy Racers, an animated spinoff of the movie franchise. Now, the Teen Wolf alumni is all set to star in a thriller indie flick Brut Force, opposite Lelia Symington.

Season three of Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet returned with a completely new format that has fans speculating about the future of the series. There’s been no news on auditions for a new season just yet due to the coronavirus pandemic but, if all goes well, Sugar Rush fans can “cake” it easy and expect a Christmas special and a season 4 come 2021.
