Romance rumor alert! Earlier today, the newly single Kristin Cavallari posted an oh-so-cute photo of Steeephenn (ahem, we mean Stephen Colletti), and it’s driving Laguna Beach fans crazy for more answers.
Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti reunited this week and it’s causing a social media frenzy. The post comes just a few weeks after Cavallari announced her divorce from Jay Cutler after almost seven years of marriage. Kristin and Stephen were known for their drama-filled on-and-off-again relationship that aired on MTV’s early 2000s’ reality TV show, Laguna Beach. Are the old flames giving love a third, or fourth, shot? Or is the photo just proof these two are long-lasting friends? We’ll let the die-hard fans decide.
As reported by TMZ, Kristin Cavallari recently posted an Instagram photo with on-and-off-again high school flame, Stephen Colletti. In the ‘gram, the two are cuddled up with one another and, of course, look like they haven’t aged a wink since the iconic reality TV show ended back in 2006. This is one of the first times we’ve seen Cavallari cozying up to Colletti since their Orange County days and it’s giving everyone flashbacks. Raise your hand if you still remember their sunset beach meetups and tearful breakups. The reality TV star even joked how much they looked the same as their high school selves by captioning the picture, "2004 or 2020!?" Check out the reunion photo below:
There's no doubt that this post sparked some serious romance rumors – but are they true? Unfortunately, it looks like these Laguna stars are not dating. While Cavallari is in the midst of divorcing her husband of ten years, NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, she and Colletti are just good friends. An inside source reports, “There's no rekindling of their old relationship -- they've simply remained good friends since their split many years ago.” They also added, “Kristin was down in Laguna to visit Stephen and Alex Murrel, another star of 'LB: The Real Orange County' ... and that's all there is to it.”
While fans can still ship these two flames, Cavallari and Colletti show that after enough years go by, high school exes can remain friends. Here’s to hoping for more Laguna Beach reunions – it's clearly what the fans want! Who knows? Maybe MTV will get the hint that we need another reunion show and bring back more of our favorite cast members. Fingers crossed until then!
