DCEU: 5 Characters Who Need To Meet Each Other In The Future (& 5 Who Definitely Shouldn't)

Any comic book or superhero film fan has one thing they all love to see on the big screen: meet-ups. Whenever a production company creates a cinematic universe like the DCEU, the opportunities and ideas for heroes meeting up and connecting are endless.

Whether that means they simply meet in a small team-up or a large, Justice League style film, everyone adores seeing the heroes and villains connect, despite there being a few characters who should never meet. Here are five characters who need to meet and five who definitely shouldn't meet in the future of the DCEU.

10 Need To: Shazam And Superman

Now, back when Shazam! came out in 2019, the state of the DCEU was in a sort of limbo, with actors either unclear of when or even if they would be returning. As such, Henry Cavil, Superman, was one such character and while Superman appears in Shazam!, it's only a stand-in whose face we don't even see.

With luck, when the sequel Shazam! is released, we can finally see more than just the upper body of Superman and watch the pair have a proper team-up that they and audiences deserve.

9 Shouldn't: Wonder Woman And Harley Quinn

At the moment, DC has managed to pump out two female-centered super-hero films, following the amazing Wonder Woman and the psychotic Harley Quinn. Given both characters being received well, one would expect to see the pair cross swords in future films.

However, these two wonderful characters should in fact never see each other's faces. Simply put, they have no place meeting or seeing one another and as such, their meeting would either confuse or even enrage fans, leaving this as one team-up the DCEU should wisely avoid.

8 Need To: Batman And The Suicide Squad

When people generally think of the heroes of the DC universe, their minds either wander to Batman or Superman. When they think of villains, one of the thoughts at the forefront is the Suicide Squad. As it stands, Batman has yet to properly meet the Suicide Squad (despite a tiny cameo) and more than anything should.

Despite facing villains on a daily basis, Batman facing off against a team of government baddies would be a showdown unlike any other. The possibilities of a brawl between the good, the bad, and the crazy are endless.

7 Shouldn't: Justice League And Deathstroke

An issue that the DCEU seems to have is its ability to set plot lines up and then either forget or never revisit them. In a post-credit scene to Justice League, back in 2017, fans got to see Deathstroke for the first time on the big screen.

It was teased that Deathstroke along with other villains would go up against the Justice League. While Deathstroke is more than capable of doing so, he should be kept to the shadows in the event of JL2 and go up against smaller enemies.

6 Need To: Green Lantern And Justice League

Back when the seeds of a Justice League film were being planted, one of the ways Warner Bros went about teasing the team-up was through the slogan, unite the seven. When JL came out, there were only six members, leaving many to wonder who the seventh was.

While Hal Jordan hasn't appeared in the DCEU yet, the existence of the green lanterns was in a flashback sequence. With the seeds of both a Jordan or John Stewart appearance, DC should give green lanterns their due in a JL sequel.

5 Shouldn't: Black Canary And Flash

Something that draws a lot of fans into the world of DC is the unique relationships between heroes. So many times, the heroes of the DC universe connect and interact with one another not just while saving the world but simply as friends as well.

That being said, the friendship of Black Canary and the Flash should remain off the screen. While the Flash and the Green Arrow were friends in the comics, Oliver has yet appeared in the DCEU, making the appearance of Black Canary feel out of place.

4 Need To: Huntress And Batman

Despite popular belief, there are countless heroes like Batman in the DC universe. While many heroes have the ability to fly, lift buildings and shoot lasers from their eyes, so many more are simply running around and stopping crime with gadgets and money.

Huntress is a lot like Batman, having lost her family and seeking vengeance. As such, a crossover between the pair could ease her rage, with Bruce taking her under his wing as if she were a robin and showing her the right way to bring down villains.

3 Shouldn't: Amanda Waller And Lex Luthor

In the DCEU, there haven't been many established organizations or industries, outside of Wayne, Luthor, the US government, and Task Force X. Given that Waller and Wayne have already crossed swords, one would expect the world's smartest man, Lex Luthor, to challenge her next.

Yet, there's no real need for them to meet. Luthor's goals typically never intersect with the likes of Task Force X and Waller would have to be insane to try and put Luthor on her team, given his genius IQ.

2 Need To: Legion Of Doom

The world of the DCEU is always in need of new heroes and villains, especially for the Justice League. While the Justice League has gone up against the likes of Steppenwolf, the team should stray from extraterrestrial threats for now. Instead, the team should tackle the Legion Of Doom.

The components are already set, with characters like Joker, Black Manta, Cheeta, and Lex Luthor either having made or set to make their big-screen debuts. With their collective strengths, the Legion would be quite the adversary for the Justice League.

1 Shouldn't: The Outsiders

There are teams in the DC world like the Justice League, the Legion of Doom, and the Justice Society, teams that strike fear and command power and respect. Then there are smaller teams, like that of the Outsiders, a team that shouldn't meet in the DCEU.

While the likes of Katana and Batman have been assembled to bring the team to life, there's simply too much more ground to cover and far too many more characters to add, making this one super team that should remain in the comics.
