Netflix's All Together Now cast features impressive young stars in addition to a handful of stellar veteran actors. The film directed and co-written by Brett Haley is based on the 2010 Matthew Quick novel titled Sorta Like a Rockstar. Similar to Haley's past work, All Together Now features bright-eyed characters facing difficult challenges in life before finding a sense of hope.
All Together Now follows a high school senior that spends all of her time helping other people. Not only is she a reliable student but the figure also serves as the glue that keeps her group of friends together. Despite the teen's cheery facade, she's dealing with serious issues at home that she tries to keep a secret. When matters worsen, it becomes harder to hide the truth from those closest to her.
Up-and-comer Auli'i Cravalho headlines Netflix's latest feature film, and the young actress is surrounded by a few notable cast members. Like with most cases, the live-action adaptation has made some adjustments to the plot. That said, here's a complete All Together Now cast and character guide.
The talented Auli'i Cravalho stars as Amber Appleton, a do-gooder who has multiple jobs and a singer with her sights set on attending Carnegie Mellon University. Despite her calm demeanor, Amber is carrying around the secret that she and her mother are homeless. Cravalho is best known for voicing the titular character in Moana as well as her performances in Rise and The Little Mermaid Live!.
Justina Machado plays Becky, the mother of Auli'i Cravalho's character. Becky struggles with alcoholism in addition to the pressures of being a single parent. She and Amber spend their nights sleeping on a school bus since they're currently homeless. Machado would be recognized for her work in One Day at a Time, Jane the Virgin, Six Feet Under, and Queen of the South.
One of Amber's jobs includes working at an old-folks home, and one of the residents is played by the legendary actress Carol Burnett. She portrays Joan who is described as an irritable but delightful figure in Amber's life. Burnett has gained seven decades worth of acting credits, but she's best known for her trailblazing comedy show, The Carol Burnett Show.
Relative newcomer Anthony Jacques portrays Ricky in the drama film. Ricky serves as Amber's best friend even though they share different personality traits. Before All Together Now, Jacques appeared in multiple episodes of Atypical as Christopher.
Fred Armisen as Mr. Franks: One of Amber's eccentric teachers. Aside from his time on Saturday Night Live, Armisen is known for his work on Portlandia and recent voice work in Big Mouth and Final Space.
Rhenzy Feliz as Ty: Amber's love interest at school. Feliz played Spencer in Casual and Aaron in Teen Wolf before acquiring one of the main roles in Marvel's Runaways as Alex Wilder.
Judy Reyes as Donna: Ricky's mother and another motherly figure in Amber's life. Reyes has played Carla Espinosa in Scrubs, Zoila Diaz in Devious Maids, and Annalise Zayas in Claws.
Taylor Richardson as Jordan: A fellow friend and classmate of Amber and Ricky. Richardson recently appeared in Slenderman in addition to Rise alongside Cravalho.
Gerald Isaac Waters as Chad: Another friend of Amber and Ricky. Before All Together Now, Waters appeared in Angie Tribeca as Todd.
C.S. Lee as Father Chee: A local priest that Amber often visits. Aside from roles on Chicago Med, Warrior, and The Rookie, Lee is best known for playing Vince Masuka on Dexter.
