Lucifer: 5 Most Likeable Characters (& 5 Fans Can't Stand)

Lucifer's popularity has skyrocketed over the past year or so, thanks to Netflix as the biggest streaming platform in the world saved the show from extinction. Thus far, four brilliant seasons of the show have been released and every single one of them has brought along some new characters and gripping storylines, making the Netflix Original binge-worthy.

While there have been loads of antagonists along the way, the main characters have sometimes been too much to handle. For a fantasy drama, the critically acclaimed series has loads of characters; some of whom the fans cannot stand, while some they always root for.

10 Like: Linda Martin

Linda, being a therapist, is one of the most mature characters in the series and she has the answer to almost everything, especially for Lucifer, who is discovering new feelings every single day. She is patient, smart, well-spoken, and very rarely does she get angry, even though Amendadiel and Maze give her plenty of reasons to. Linda is someone without whom this series cannot be imagined, as even without superpowers, she is no less than a superhero.

9 Can't Stand: Dan Espinoza

Dan always seems a bit off, doesn't he? Rarely do the fans get a good vibe from him, as he always seems angry at something or someone. With Charlotte, he found some peace but that was taken away from him, with no fault of his. That was the final nail in the coffin. In season four, he is hating on Lucifer because he blames him for Charlotte's death, even though, deep inside, he knows that's not true.

8 Like: Mazikeen

Maze starts off as Lucifer's partner in crime but as the series progresses, she evolves into something more than just a cold-hearted demon. She becomes more human, developing friendships, and having people's backs.

She faces some bumps along the way but in the end, Earth feels home to her and right now, there's no way in hell that she would go back to where she came from. The comic relief she brings to the show is indispensable.

7 Can't Stand: Eve

The new addition to the squad, Inbar Lavi's Eve is easily hateable. She wants to keep Lucifer all to herself, which means the fans see less of Lucifer and Chloe together. And that is criminal, to say the least. There are no layers to her character in season four. It's all about Lucifer for her and she learns that she was wrong way too late into the season. Let's hope her character rejuvenates itself in the upcoming season.

6 Like: Amenadiel

Amenadiel is so sweet that sometimes it feels like Earth doesn't deserve an angel like him. While Lucifer can be insulting, at times, Amenadiel does everything he can to help anyone in need, be it his friend and anyone else. He is another character who's gone from hating Earth to feeling like this is his home. And now with Linda becoming the mother of his child, Charlie, Amenadiel might stay in the place his father built forever.

5 Can't Stand: Goddess

Lucifer's mother was one of the best antagonists of the show because she wasn't trying to be bad, it's just that she wanted her family back and she wanted to achieve that task by doing anything she could. In the end, though, she went too far and Lucifer just couldn't handle her shenanigans. While Amenadiel was following her at the start, he also realized the error in her ways. Still, she was their mother and they found the best solution.

4 Like: Chloe Decker

Lauren German as Chloe Decker goes under the radar a bit, thanks to Tom Ellis' stunning performance but she deserves equal plaudits for the show being such a huge hit among the masses.

Being one of the heads at LAPD, a lot of responsibility hangs on Chloe's shoulders, and to be fair, she handles everything almost perfectly, along with being a parent. Of course, her chemistry with Lucifer is absolutely beautiful.

3 Can't Stand: Father Kinley

The main antagonist of season four, Father Kinley came across as someone who's obsessed with a theory or prophecy. And he wants to end it but he doesn't realize that his actions are putting everything in motion. He is the one who fills Chloe's ears, in order to turn her against Lucifer but in the end, love and trust win. Father Kinley is the worst kind of evil because he thinks he is trying to do good when in reality, he's a demon on Earth.

2 Like: Lucifer Morningstar

What's there to say about Earth's favorite devil? Lucifer Morningstar is full of charisma; everything he does, he does with class and in a perfectly fitted suit. While he can be too much to handle sometimes, Lucifer never wants bad for anyone because, after all, he is an angel. There are things about him that are hated, like when he takes too much to understand what he really wants. But at the end of the day, the good trumps the bad.

1 Can't Stand: Marcus Pierce

Cain, aka the world's first murderer, is easily the most loathsome character the series has seen. First of all, he's a criminal who acts like a good guy, and second, he comes in between Lucifer and Chloe's love story. Both of those things make the fans feel frustrated, especially the latter because Marcus Pierce is the reason why they don't get to see what they want to see. Still, he's an important part of the puzzle, as his evil nature finally prompts Lucifer to show Chloe his true face.
