Meghan Markle is not happy with Jessica Mulroney's comments. The Duchess is distancing herself from the Canadian heiress thanks to her lack of judgment and harsh words.
Jessica Mulroney was made for the spotlight, especially when she became close with Meghan Markle. The aspiring actress met Markle when she was pre-royalty back in 2011, and the two have been besties ever since. The Canadian even was rumored to have picked out Markle’s wedding dress. Mulroney's children, Ivy, Brian, and John even attended the royal wedding. However, haters continue to hate. Mulroney made a name for herself as she continuously stood up for her best friend when the Duchess received backlash for her undesirable decisions.
Now, the tables have turned. Mulroney has found herself in a brouhaha thanks to her white privilege. The I Do, Redo host's Instagram was blasted for "white privilege" recently thanks to a Canadian lifestyle blogger, Sasha Exeter, who called out Mulroney for her silence during the Black Lives Matter resurgence. In a video posted to her Instagram, she told followers that she tried not to call anyone out directly. She holds on to that sentiment for a short minute, then reveals that a “very prominent Canadian” who she is friends with had recently been on the offensive regarding one of the Lifestyle Manager’s social media stories. Exeter went on to detail that Mulroney stated in writing that she had spoken to “companies and people” about the way Exeter had supposedly treated Mulroney “unfairly.” Exeter said she felt threatened since most of her income comes from working with companies and brands.
Markle is said to be “mortified” over Mulroney’s “tone deaf” approach to the BLM according to Page Six. Even though Mulroney has stood by the Duchess’s side time after time, the same cannot be said for Markle. A source revealed that she is disassociating herself from her former best friend. The outlet reported that Markle does not think Mulroney is a racist but was heartbroken by her friend’s lack of awareness as to how to handle the situation with Exeter. Markle then was said to have expressed concerns that “friends reflect friends” and could not risk her and Harry’s lifestyle, deciding she would no longer be associated with Mulroney or her family.
To protect her own reputation which has already been tarnished Markle made the decision to drop Mulroney. Followers of the story were appalled that Markle would just ditch her close friend after all the times Mulroney stood up for her when she was leaving the Monarchy. It just goes to show there are no real friendships in Hollywood.
