Bad Education: 10 Other Movies Where You've Seen The Cast

In this year when theatrical releases have been rare, HBO Films' Bad Education reminds audiences that not all good movies are in theaters. The film tells the incredible true story of the biggest school embezzlement scandal in American history, which took place in the New York school district of Roslyn in the mid-2000s.

The movie is a fascinating white-collar crime story with an engrossing plot that is further elevated by some stellar performance. It features a great cast of familiar faces as well as some great newcomers. Here are some other movies where you've seen the cast of Bad Education.

10 Allison Janney: I, Tonya (2017)

The scandal at the center of the movie first begins to surround the school district's assistant superintendent, Pamela Gluckin, played by Allison Janney. Pamela is a hard-working and dedicated educator but is caught using school funds for her own luxurious lifestyle.

Janney has had a long and acclaimed career to date, including her Oscar-winning role in another bizarre true story I, Tonya. Janney plays LaVona, the mother of figure skater Tonya Harding who rose to the heights of her sport before a scandal ended her career.

9 Kayli Carter: Private Life (2018)

Newcomer Kayli Carter plays one of Pamela's many family members who are caught up in the scandal. She plays her daughter Amber who is horrified to learn that it has been her mother's illegal activities that have been funding her education all these years.

Carter has already had some stellar performance under her belt at this point with the underrated dramedy Private Life being the most notable. Kathryn Hahn and Paul Giamatti play a middle-aged couple struggling to conceive when their niece (Carter) offers to be a surrogate.

8 Alex Wolff: Hereditary (2018)

Alex Wolff has a relatively small yet important role in Bad Education as Nick Fleishman, the editor of the school newspaper that begins tracking the scandal. Nick struggles with the paper dealing with such a big and damaging story while also knowing the truth must come out.

Wolff has had a number of high-profile roles thus far in his career, but horror fans certainly know him best for his role in the critically acclaimed Hereditary. Wolff plays a member of a grieving family haunted by supernatural forces.

7 Jimmy Tatro: 22 Jump Street (2014)

The movie depicts the scandal first coming to light thanks to the misguided actions of Pamela's not-too-bright son, Jim Boy. After Jim Boy recklessly uses his mother's school credit card to buy materials for a remodeling project, questions are raised.

Jimmy Tatro plays Jim Boy in a brief but amusing role. Tatro seems to excel at these types of roles and played another dim character in the comedy sequel 22 Jump Street, in which he plays a college student suspected of being a drug dealer.

6 Kathrine Narducci: The Irishman (2019)

Kathrine Narducci plays Sharon Katz, one of the many parents who are thrilled and charmed by superintendent Frank Tessone (Hugh Jackman). She even makes a move on him after one of their book club meetings, not realizing that Frank is gay.

Narducci has recently been seen in the critically acclaimed Martin Scorsese epic The Irishman, which also features her Bad Education co-star Ray Romano. Narducci plays the wife of Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci).

5 Rafael Casal: Blindspotting (2018)

Frank has many secrets in his life and Rafael Casal's character Kyle is one of them. Kyle is a former student of Frank's who he happens to run into while in Las Vegas and begins an affair with which becomes serious.

Casal was in one of the most underrated dramas in recent years with Blindspotting. He stars alongside Daveed Diggs in a film the two stars wrote together about two friends whose bond is tested when one of them begins to think his friend is too destructive to be around.

4 Pat Healy: Compliance (2012)

Pat Healy has a small but pivotal role in the film's climax as the lead investigator in Frank's embezzlement scheme. He plays the cop role well as someone disgusted by the crime but perhaps digging too hard in his interrogations.

Healy is a character actor with plenty of smaller credits to his name. But surely his most unsettling role is in the thriller Compliance. Based on a true story, the film is about a fast-food manager who holds an employee captive under directions from a man on the phone who claims to be a cop, played by Healy.

3 Ray Romano: The Big Sick (2017)

Ray Romano has a great supporting role in Bad Education as Bob Spicer, the head of the school board. Spicer is someone uninvolved with the embezzling but finds himself mixed up in it too much and it starts to drag him down as well.

Romano is a great comedian as well as a dramatic actor, and he had the chance to show both sides of his talents in The Big Sick. Kumail Nanjiani plays a man struggling with his ex-girlfriend being in a coma. Romano plays the girl's father in a hilarious and touching role.

2 Geraldine Viswanathan: Blockers (2018)

Geraldine Viswanathan is great in one of the lead roles in this film as Rachel, the strong-willed student journalist who is responsible for breaking the big story thanks to her investigation. Viswanathan does a wonderful job with the character who finds herself faced with a bigger story than she could have imagined.

Viswanathan is an up-and-coming actor who had a great breakout role in the comedy Blockers. She plays one of three high school friends determined to lose their virginity on prom night while their parents try to stop them.

1 Hugh Jackman: Logan (2017)

Hugh Jackman gives one of the best performances of his career as Frank Tessone in Bad Education. Frank is an extremely dedicated superintendent who is very good at his job. Unfortunately, his greed gets in the way of that.

Jackman is, of course, best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men films, a role he finally ended with the critically acclaimed Logan. The film finds the mutant hero living a desperate and painful life when he finds a young mutant who needs a protector.
